The difference between Pulp Valley beater and PFI refiner?

Time: 2020-07-16     Source: Wuhan Bonnin Technology Ltd.

Use difference:

PFI mill (also known as PFI type beater or vertical PFI refiner) is used in pulping and papermaking experiments to provide standard quantitative samples for the determination of pulp beating degree, pulp sample moisture, pulp concentration, wet dissociation and freeness. PFI pulper complies with ISO5264/2-1979 "Pulp Laboratory Beating-Part 2: PFI Grinding Method" and the experimental standards specified in ISO5264/2 and TAPPIT248.

The Valley beater is an international standard equipment for papermaking laboratories ,and an essential equipment for studying pulping and papermaking processes. The machine uses the mechanical force generated by the flying knife roller and the bottom knife to cut, crush, rub, split, swell and refine various fiber pulps, and at the same time cause displacement and deformation of the cell wall of the fiber, and rupture of the primary wall and the outer layer of the secondary wall. According to the pressure on the bottom knife and the beating time, changes in pulp with different beating degrees can be obtained. The Valley beater is widely used in pulping tests of various plant fibers, synthetic fibers, carbon fibers, and glass fibers. It is an indispensable papermaking experimental equipment for papermaking production testing, quality control, process formulation, and teaching and scientific research experiments.

Principle difference:

The principle of the PFI pulper: The measured pulp with a specified concentration is placed between the knife roller and the smooth beating cylinder, and the knife roller and the beating cylinder rotate at different circumferential speeds. This acts on the pulp to achieve the purpose of beating.

The principle of the Valley beater: Through the mechanical force generated by the flying knife roller and the bottom knife, various fiber pulps are cut, crushed, kneaded, split, swelled and fiber-refined, while the fiber cell wall is displaced and deformed, and the primary wall and the outer layer of the secondary wall are ruptured.
